Paola Zapiola

Head Coach

Paola was born in Salta, Argentina, just a few minutes from the club where she first began playing tennis at the age of 11. Coming from a very sporty family, she was first encouraged to try tennis by her father when she was only six years old. At the time, tennis didn’t capture her interest, and she quickly gave it up. Little did she know that a few years later she would be asking her father to sign her up for lessons after watching people play at her local club during a hockey competition. From that moment on, she fell in love with the sport and has been passionate about tennis ever since.

Paola took her first steps into coaching at the age of 21 while working at Scatico, a summer camp in New York. She enjoyed the experience so much that she returned for three consecutive summers. Inspired by her passion for teaching and sport, she decided to study Physical Education to further strengthen her knowledge and coaching skills. After completing her degree, she returned to Scatico in 2021 as a Head Coach.

While studying at university, Paola worked as Head Coach for Universidad Provincial de Córdoba from 2017 to 2019. During the same period, she also coached at La Tablada Tennis Academy, gaining valuable experience working with players of different ages and abilities.

Following these experiences, Paola went to Mexico, where she worked for Iguana Tennis at the five-star resort Iberostar for 3 months.

In August 2022, Paola arrived in Australia and joined Highlands Tennis in September of the same year. In 2023, she obtained her Junior Development Coach qualification.

At Highlands Tennis, Paola delivers a wide range of programs, including private and shared lessons, Cardio Tennis, Cardio Pop, and Hot Shots programs across Blue, Red, and Green stages. She also leads the Holiday Camps program as Head Coach, helping young players develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game in a fun and supportive environment.
